Stiff person syndrome (SPS) is a rare, progressive neurological disorder that affects the central nervous system.

It is characterized by muscle stiffness and spasms, as well as heightened sensitivity to stimuli such as sound and lights.

The exact cause of SPS is unknown, but it is thought to be an autoimmune disorder.SPS is more common in women than men, and it usually begins in middle age.

The symptoms of SPS can vary from person to person, but they often include:  – Muscle stiffness and spasms, particularly in the trunk and limb – Painful muscle contraction

– Sensitivity to noise, light, and emotional distre – Difficulty walking, standing, and sitting – Fall – Breathing problem – Anxiety and depression

There is a small risk of serious complications from SPS, such as respiratory failure and bone fractures.
